Press Kit Description

For the sixth time, Ford Motor Company is at the world’s biggest mobile event to share its visionary approach to the “City of Tomorrow” and announce key developments that will enhance future urban mobility and in-car connectivity, at Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona.

Ken Washington, vice president, Research and Advanced Engineering, Ford Motor Company, outlines Ford’s approach to overcoming mobility challenges in urban environments – including gridlock and air pollution – to help people move more easily today and in the future. Jessica Robinson, director of Ford’s City Solutions team, leads a panel discussing health, safety, productivity, logistics, infrastructure and emergency services in future cities. Ford executive director Don Butler joins Phil Skipper from Vodafone to discuss in-car connectivity and share some exciting news around this topic, while Ford of Europe chief operating officer Steven Armstrong talks disruption with Jens Baron from Waze.

Ford also presents innovations from the Last Mile Mobility Challenge, which asked employees to develop ideas and concepts for electric personal assistant devices that could help to make transportation better in areas where vehicles are not permitted or practical. These include the automated delivery concept Autolivery, the rideable electric platform Carr-E and the folding electric tricycle TriCiti.
